The Paisley Farmhouse Newsletter
Dianne of The Paisley Farmhouse knows a thing or two about details. Sending out this wonderful newsletter about the history of aprons keeps people coming back for more!
Click on the picture to enlarge. You must read this...

Already I am itching to get back over there to hang out and have some coffee while cruising around the prettiest little shop in town.
The Paisley Farmhouse blog has some wonderful ideas too! Visit her website www.paisleyfarmhouse.com check out the site, and when you need more of this little store of goodness click on "blog" in the sidebar. Great ideas on using broken crayons and cookie cutters!
In case you missed it, my previous post is all about this fabulous store.
Thanks for all of your wonderful comments and keep coming back for more!

Featured Store: The Paisley Farmhouse
One of my favorite stores to visit here in my hometown is called The Paisley Farmhouse. The store is so inviting and is the epitome of comfort and hospitality. As you walk in you are greeted by the fabulous - Dianne Harvey. Not only is her place oh-so-awesome, but she is so much fun to hang out with! She is so proud of the store and always tells me just how much her entire family has helped with her success.
The candles smell delicious and the music just pulls you right in...once you are there, you never want to leave. Floor to ceiling decor makes you want to run home and remodel every room.
Paisley Farmhouse offers home decor and gift items as well. You will find local artwork, including some from her daughter India, quilts, aprons, hand-made candles and body products that are incredible, baby gifts, custom photo transfers and so much more.
Thanks for taking the time to tour one of my favorite places along with me!

Introducing Sknobs: Custom Painted Knobs
Just a little something from my art studio that I have been painting for several years. Along with decorating and painting custom canvas art for kids, these little guys keep me pretty busy too.
Snobs come in two sizes big and extra big. Just kidding...they are 2 inches and 2 1/2 inches in diameter with a flat bottom for a snug fit on your furniture.
Here are more of my favorites for your viewing pleasure:
These are great for a country or whimsical kitchen look...
Prices are $10 for the 2 inch and $12 for the 2 1/2 inch knobs.
Painted with high quality acrylic and 3 coats of clear varnish for protection.
These are not your ordinary knobs, they are over-sized solid wood
with lots of attention to detail.

Fabulous Finds of the Week
This has been an amazing week here in blogland! I felt the need to share with you some of my favorite blog posts. Please stop over and check them out and tell them I sent you!
Blue-eyed Blessings had this fabulous gift idea of a covered note pad. So easy and inexpensive for teachers, friends, and Mother's Day too.
Shannan at Flower Patch Farm Girl (just the cutest blog name) has transformed her mud room/laundry room into a room you wouldn't want to leave!
Now, I am cheating here, because this one is a bit older post, but, I have been dying to put it out for everyone to see. I especially love the meaning of the blog title...
Tuesdays with Molly~ two sisters who spend Tuesdays catching up and crafting together.
They have so many great craft ideas, but I chose one that is so much fun. Be sure to read them all! The one I chose is a seasonal/birthday banner made up of empty household boxes, so creative!

Have fun visiting these inspiring ladies! Come back to visit me soon...

Colorful Rooms: A Breath of Fresh (Spring) Air
This has been a great week in bloggy world, I gotta say...my eyes are tired. Too many posts, so little time!
Today Julia at Hooked on Houses is having her Hooked on Friday party and Melissa at The Inspired Room is having her Beautiful Life party, so I am Hooked on Beautiful Spaces. The kind that are so gorgeous they make feel like a am living a beautiful life. There. Got it all in the same post.
Not much to say today.. just simply wanted to share with you some beautiful, cheerful, sunny rooms. It's cold here and I am in need of Spring. So envision yourself in these beautiful spaces soaking up the sun and enjoying THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE.
Look closely at the pictures, imagine how you can take these ideas and use them in your home. Add warmth, color, and fresh flowers (when possible) to bring your senses to life.
Rearrange your furniture so that you may enjoy conversation with your guests and bring better flow to the rooms.
Try simple changes that make you want to be at home, not run away from clutter and unpleasant surroundings.

There...doesn't that make you appreciate the beautiful world we live in? It works for me.
Now go forth and make something pretty. Have a great weekend everyone!

Weekly Dusting: Perfect Time to Rotate Accessories
Weekly dusting...
I use that term loosely, but, that is when I rotate accessories. Maybe it's the wanna-be store owner that comes out in me. Some prefer to purchase (or make) accessories for a specific area, and they are happy to leave it there for all of eternity, me, being the accessory junkie that I am, I just buy them and know they will have a never-ending place in my humble home.
I have a sofa table that has never quite been used for what it was intended, as I have not yet moved the sofa away from the wall. It has been used for a side table, a buffet in the dining room, and a desk in the family room, but never as a sofa table. So for today's 10 Minutes to a Room you'll Love party at The Nester's place I thought we could play around with some of my favorite accessories for this table. Simply "shopping the house" gave me several options. Here a just a few...
Books are always in style. Gather your best hard-backs to accessorize your home. They can be big or small, real or faux (shown above).
Here I have two gorgeous faux books found in a favorite decor store for a steal, I tucked them into a tray with some greenery, threw in some ceramic finials (from Ross, another bargain) and a picture of my boys. Don't forget the lamp. For me, if you have a table it needs either a lamp or flower arrangement-sometimes both. Please use the lamps, don't let them just sit there. A lit lamp even during the day changes the ambiance and highlights your beautiful accessories.
Here is another shot of the gorgeous books. The one on the bottom is cracked leather and these guys are artwork all by themselves!
More hard back books and another option for the finials...

How about this chic? Not sure if I like this one so well, she's too tall and somehow not right... think I will put her back in the bathroom.

O.K. let's wipe the slate clean and start again. Pretend I'm dusting... yep, time to change things!
Wow, looking at this picture shows me that I seriously need to change out the knob and can't you see this table being a funky, rustic aqua with the stain showing through? hmmmmm...
Alright, alright, let's go with a plate resting on an easel with some other books. The Pottery Barn Home book is my new favorite. That's a whole other post for another day soon.

So maybe we should loose the plate, move the lamp to the left side and add a picture frame...

This time we will move the lamp back to the right, add a fabric placemat and voila! I have an extra chair from my kitchen set that usually lives with this table it also adds great color.

Need a closeup?

One more table before I finish. This tiny table hangs out in my foyer and when I get bored... I mean dust, it gets changed too.
Plain old sad little table...
Now, all spruced up to welcome my guest...

Well that was fun! My kids thought I was a little crazy with the furniture photo shoot. Now, I just have to put all of this stuff back somewhere.
Don't be afraid to change things up a bit. Live on the wild side, throw caution to the wind!
The next time you dust- shop the house and play around with your accessories. Then come tell me all about it!
Now I have got to head over to The Nesting Place to check out the party. Come with me...
