Mushrooms on Parade

Holy mushroom madness--Our yard has been taken over by fungi!

The lawnmower has been on the fritz for a while, and we haven’t been able to cut the grass in about three weeks. In that time, we have been overcome with the craziest mushrooms you’ve ever seen. Some are so fascinating that I just had to blog about them!

It’s the weekend…I needed something different to blog about anyway, right?

This would make a great umbrella for a little mouse.

These brown guys looked like rough rocks!

Looks like a Portobello, right?

I mean REALLY…what’s with all the ‘shrooms?

I know I’m crazy, but I didn’t think anyone would believe me unless I posted about the mushroom insanity going on in my yard.

Okay—I saved the best for last… It’s bigger than my HAND!

Thanks for indulging me while I showed off the mushroom parade!

I really do have much more interesting posts coming this week, so stay tuned!

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Sorry to hear about your lawn mower being on the fritz, but oh my...the mushrooms are amazing. I especially love the red one. If only you had a photo of that mouse,l.o.l.

Our yard gets like that too...But only with the boring normal white mushrooms...Yours are very cool looking...Especially the red ones! They look like they came straight from fairy tale. Wow...that one was HUGE!

The red mushrooms remind of the gnomes! I used to have a book of gnomes and they always sat on the red mushrooms, and under the big brown ones in the rain.

All those were in your backyard? I have never seen so many different types in one yard.

However, the pictures were great.

I've never seen so many different type of mushrooms in a yard before. I love the little red topped mushrooms.
