Divine Kitchen Details

Kitchens are so easy to fall in love with.

So many details to choose from, and so many options to play with to get it just YOUR style.

In this post I will be pointing out some fabulous details. For instance, this kitchen has the most beautiful black cabinetry. Look at the trim work in the glass upper cabinet doors; this makes them more like china cabinets than plain old kitchen cabinets. Let’s face it, they had to have something a bit more elegant next to that stove hood. Did you notice the spice racks made into the hood? I also love the different tile patterns used on the backsplash. My favorite, subway tile, is used under the majority of the space and under the stove hood they have created a diamond pattern. That pot-filler is really special too. But only consider adding one if you will actually use it. They are very costly to install.

Did you also notice, that is not a table there to the left, they raised the island a few inches higher to create the effect of a table and added taller, and GORGEOUS bar stools. I love how elegant, yet cozy this kitchen is. Oh, and check out the chandelier! FAB.

BHG Kitchen & Bath Ideas

Talk about details! In order to make this room appear taller they have painted the ceiling boards white and have taken the white plates all the way up. Also, they kept the color of the door the same as the walls to make the room appear larger. When the paint color stops at the doors, it breaks up the room. Having the vertical set of white frames also draws your eyes up! Love this kitchen…

Have I ever confessed my love of a booth in the kitchen? That’s another post for sure!

I love this pale green color and how they kept some doors off and some with glass doors. Love the open shelf over the sink for collectibles too. There is also bead board inside the open cabinet and on the island to tie the room together. Did you notice the subway tile? I do love subway tile….

Country Living

Wow! Look at the open window over this cook top. Using BIG features is the way to go in this open room. Anything smaller would get lost! See how they have used similar slate on the floor and the wall around the stove…nice.

And this…there is woodwork from floor to ceiling, and it is gorgeous! Keeping it white opens up the room, and gives it a clean, crisp feeling. They have balanced the darker woods on the countertop and floors. It’s beautiful! What I would give for that sink….

Have I ever confessed my love of a black-and-white floor? This floor is actually painted wood slats. Right up my alley.

The restaurant style island is not my “usual” style, but I would LOVE to cook in this kitchen. Look at the light fixtures, they are perfect here with the giant stainless steel countertop. This looks like easy breezy clean up.

Now, I am sorry if I offend…but I could NOT cook in this kitchen. I am not a fan of pink anything. This sort of reminds me of an old laundry mat. If you are reading this and it is your kitchen, I sincerely apologize. I could see baking cupcakes here; with sprinkles, and cherries, but not gourmet cooking.

To me this is one of the most beautiful kitchens ever. I go from one end of the spectrum to the other, literally. My favorite is at the end of the post. We are getting there. Be patient.

I love how crisp this room is. No drapes, and the only color is from natural items. It is elegant, whimsical, and warm all at the same time.

Is this not the coolest idea ever? Taking out a drawer and installing closet rod brackets with a simple dowel rod would make this possible. Who couldn’t do this little project? Love it!

House Beautiful

This kitchen is extra fabulous, really. It is in my top 10 kitchens that I have EVER seen. I am not crazy about the fabric choice on the stools, but it works well with the toile on the drapes, and it really pops off of the green cabinetry.

House Beautiful

This is Misti’s most favorite kitchen EVER.

When I saw these pictures my mouth fell open, and hit the table. I have never seen a kitchen that had so much of what I would want.

I love the mix of stained cabinets, the yellow island, and the large white built-in off to the side. The drawer pulls are stunning, the range is to die for, and the accessories could not be more perfect. I love how they have large, heavy oil paintings attached to the UNBELIEVABLE walls of crackling cement, broken bricks, and stone.

Did you notice the details on the ceiling? There is more texture in this room than I have ever seen. I am blown AWAY. They have added copper pots as well adding to the excitement of this room.

This is the ultimate kitchen space for me. The pot rack is charming, as is the black chalkboard in the corner; love the heavy gold frame. They have balanced the white cupboard with the plate rack full of large white dishes.

This is just a phenomenal kitchen. If you, by chance, are the designer of this room, I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU.

Thanks for letting me swoon over this room. The minute I saw it I knew I had to blog about it.

I would love to know your favorite style of kitchen.

What would make you want to linger all day- because you want to, not because you have to?

I will be posting this over at Julia’s place for Hooked on Fridays. Come on over with me and let’s see what everyone else is hooked on.

You posted some really nice kitchens. I think the first one is probably my favourite, but there are elements in all of them that I like.

I'm currently planning a small kitchen makeover. No major work, but installing a new countertop & backsplash and painting the cabinets. You can see what I'm planning here:

These are some grand rooms, indeed! Surprisingly, I was very attracted to the red one, possibly because it looked so down-to-earth and welcoming. My ideal kitchen would definitely include a window seat, nook or small sofa to encourage friends to keep the cook company while the brownies were in the oven...

Oh Misty, if I could spare a drawer, in a heartbeat I would turn it into a paper towel space!

Beautiful kitchens. I especially love the paper towel holder.

Lovely kitchens but I would never want to mess any of them. And I love the paper towel idea but I need more drawers, not fewer.

Love the kitchens, especially the built in paper towel holder!!! I will use this idea in a major kitchen project I am working on-the client will love it!!!
Thanks

I could look at kitchen pictures all day long! You have some wonderful examples that I have never seen.

I think it is so bold to paint your cabinets green - wish I could do that! I am so focused on keeping things neutral for resale that I tend to stick to the boring basics.

I just had to replace my fridge and oven (they were 21 years old and failing), so I put in stainless, which made my 80s cabinets look even worse. So I just had my cabinets painted a crisp white, used brushed nickel knobs and got a new brushed nickel faucet. Now my countertops are practically begging to be replaced with a nice honed black granite! It never ends, does it?

I especially like the booths and the checkerboard floors. I prefer the less precious and indestructible look.

Great pictures! I love that booth! My favs in general are light, bright kitchens -- to me that makes it feel like such a comfortable place to be!

Hi Misti :)

All those kitchens are beautiful!! I remember seeing your favorite before and I loved it too :)

My favorite kitchen is in this post :
http://ruespeanutbutterandjellylife.blogspot.com/2009/01/dream-decorating.html

I can't wait to paint my cabinets! First the laundry room needs to be cleaned up so I can put away all the cleaning supplies I brought back from the other house and 400 other things, but it will get done someday LOL

Have a great weekend :)

Thanks again for stopping by my cottage post and leaving a comment.. not only a fun comment but one that corrected my lousy spelling.. Big hug for that.

Next to dreaming of living in a cottage.. i really am in love with so many various styles of kitchens.

Very often my clients ask me what I would do if I were building their house plan... I simply tell them TODAY it would be this, because i could pretty much bank on the fact tomorrow it would be another kitchen style.

Great weekend to you!

Oooh I love looking at beautiful kitchens. We re-did our kitchen last year and it was such fun to look at kitchen magazines. I love the paper towel idea. Thanks for visiting my blog. I am now going to go back and study on some of those kitchen pictures. :) Lisa~
